This public art workshop called upon all budding architects and designers! Children were invited to come and spend some time with us exploring a range of challenges using two very simple construction materials – the lowly biodegradable straw and the humble pipe-cleaner…
Individual and collaborative designs enabled participants to stretch their imagination, problem-solve and explore new design possibilities. Children were asked questions such as: Can you build a tower that’s taller than yourself? Can you create a structure to house yourself in? Can you design something unique that no-one else has ever thought to make? Can you create clothing, hats, jewellery, creatures? This workshop gave participants of all ages and abilities the chance to have fun and explore endless possibilities.
