PLASTIC PRINTMAKING
This interactive workshop made creative use of plastic food-waste in order to produce vibrant prints of imaginative sea creatures and our environment (as a starting point).
The workshop held in Glasgow evoked Merchant Square’s past as a fish market and encouraged attendees to consider the link between domestic waste and our seas, which are ‘home’ to alarmingly increasing amounts of plastic year on year. Five years ago it was estimated that there was the equivalent of five grocery bags filled with plastic for every foot of coastline in our oceans.
Participants of all ages and abilities were guided through the printmaking process and supported to make a unique sea-related artwork of their own design.
